Nerja, is a holiday destination on the Costa del Sol in the Malaga province within the Andalucian region.

Almost 30 years ago Nerja was a small fishing village on the end of the Costa del Sol.  The town has remained practically unchanged with narrow, twisting streets, many of which are pedestrian round the main areas with houses win the traditional Andalucian style with terraces and balconies with all kind of bright colored flowers.
Nerja maintains its white Andalucian village and charm, in a lucky location next to the sea Nerja’s appeal to tourists as a holiday destination has developed rapidly in recent years. Walking along the Balcon de Europa from where you can glance to the sea where small local fishing boats still venture it is palpable that it has retained a definite fishing village personality which the big resorts in the rest of the Costa del Sol have not maintained.

Holiday makers enjoying Nerja have increased significantly in recent years with low cost flights and improved access along the coast from Malaga airport. Even though that it is so popular with tourists, Nerja is still a characteristically typical Spanish resort and is one of the major resort on the eastern Costa del Sol, with its own individual atmosphere and traditions.

Been a small town its growth in attractiveness has resulted in many foreigners buying villas or apartments in Nerja shared with the tourists arriving on holidays throughout the year gives the resort a clearly international feel. Nerja has a population  of more or less 25,000 people.
